Katie can Swing

The children are playing and I am sitting on the bus having my quiet time. I glance out the window and I see Katie on the swing. She is swinging!! She is leaning way back when the swing goes up and just at the precise moment that the swing goes forward she sits up. Her legs are moving in and out and she is going higher with each pump. You should she her. She has the biggest smile on her face. A smile of excitement, and relaxation graces her face. I am smiling with her - a smile of accomplishment. It was only a few months ago at age 7, that Katie would just sit on the swing. Her siblings would push her and spin her around. She would lie on the swing and push herself but nothing more. We both knew that she wanted to swing like the others but she couldn't. TODAY, SHE IS SWINGING ALL BY HERSELF! - We are both smiling.
