One of our bus traditions is to sing a hymn each night before we say prayers. One night last year, one of the children asked me to sing a song before they went to sleep and thus a tradition was born. The children love learning new hymns and other songs. They all love to sing or at least we make a joyful noise.
Anyway, I thought that I would share the hymn that we have been learning for Easter. There is so much truth and encouragement in this hymn not only at Easter time but all year.
Because He Lives
God sent His Son, they called Him Jesus:
He came love, heal and forgive;
He lived and died to buy my pardon,
An empty grave is there to prove my Savior lives.
(chorus)
Because he lives I can face tomorrow;
Because he lives all fear is gone;
Because I know he holds the future,
And life is worth the living just because he lives.
How sweet to hold a newborn baby,
and feel the pride, and joy he gives;
But greater still the calm assurance,
This child can face uncertain days because he lives.
(chorus)
And then one day I'll cross the river;
I'll fight life's final war with pain;
And then as death gives way to victory,
I'll see the lights of glory and I'll know he lives.
(chorus)
I know Jesus lives. He has changed my life and I am forever grateful for His sacrifice for me. I am saved by Grace! I am forgiven and now I live for Him. I am not perfect - No far from it! - I am a work in progress.
Life is worth living Because He LIVES!!!
Happy Easter!!!
