For Katie's birthday, she gave all of US a present. She blew out her candles!!! This is the first time she has ever blown out her own candles. It took her three tries but she got all NINE candles out by herself.
I wish I had a picture of the excitement on her face when she realized the candles were out. However, Sierra had to put the camera down to give Katie several double high-fives. All of us got caught up in the excitement as hugs were shared and praises given. I am sure the people from the next campsite heard all of our cheers.
A special thank-you goes out to Lauren Bailey, Katie's Speech Therapist, and Stephanie Fisher, Katie's Nurse, for all your hard work during the last year. I can remember days when Katie would refuse to blow, act like she didn't know how, and even throw the pinwheel on the floor. But you ladies didn't give up on her. All of those days, working with Katie on the chewy tube, pinwheel, blowing bubbles and cotton ball blowing paid off. I just wanted to let you ladies know how much we appreciate all you have done for our family and especially our little girl. Whenever you have a hard day with your children or with your clients, remember days that this do come and they are a blessing. Keep loving on those little ones.
It was a joy to get to know each member of your family this last week at Circle 10 Campground. Katie is such a sweet girl and a blessing to know. Jeff is such a great dad and spiritual leader for the family. Missy has the patience of Job!(And energy to match)(So organized!)! Sierra is a delightful young lady who can be whatever she sets her mind to be. She is sooooo smart. Andrew is NOT afraid of water - just doesn't like it. He is really a very brave young man.
ReplyDeleteJacob and Joshua are really sweet boys with a lot of energy! What can I say about Hannah? She brings so much happiness to the family.
It was a joy to get to know each of you and I cried when you left! Have a blessed and safe trip !!!! See you in heaven! Love and prayers,
Mrs. Beverly and Mr. Tony
