Lake Mineral Wells State Park is located north of Fort Worth, TX.
Lake Mineral Wells has several hiking trails and they hold programs for children.
This is Penitentiary Hollow. They allow rock climbing at this park and have steps that lead through the giant boulders. This trail was closed when we visited due to rain but I did take a few pictures at the trail head.
I am looking down into Penitentiary Hollow. After looking down for about 2 minutes, I had the feeling of slipping downwards. I got nervous and SLOWLY backed up. I am adventurous but not foolish!!
Sierra with the lake behind her while standing on the cliff. These deer were spotted at Lake Whitney State Park. We saw several deer as we drove through the park. This park has a beautiful lake.
The White-tail deer seem to be familiar with the car traffic.

This is a BBQ restaurant called "The Ranch House" located in outside of Glen Rose, TX. Their BBQ is delicious. Sierra and I shared a plate and wished we had gotten our own plate. If you are ever in the area, stop by The Ranch House for some great BBQ.
This was a very educational and interesting park. They have fossilize dinosaur tracks on site. We are planning on going back to this park so that we can do some hiking and view the tracks up close.
Jacob on the edge of the river.
Joshua sitting on the rock wall overlooking the river.
This is the Paluxy River located in Dinosaur Valley State Park.
Hannah sitting down for JUST a minute.
