Lake Claiborne State Park

While in Louisiana, we stayed at Lake Claiborne State Park. This was the first state park that we had camped. Oh, how we were truly blest. As we pulled in the park ,the park host, Ms. Frances, met us. She instantly started telling us about the park, where the local grocery store was located, and even directed us to a larger vacant site.

Our site was right across from the bathroom/hot shower/laundry area. We had a picnic table, fire ring, level parking pad, plenty of room for the children to play and shade. We had electric and water hookup and the park has a dump station.

This state park has very clean bathrooms and laundry facilities. The sites are kept up nice and we had a lake view. Lake Claiborne has several hiking trails, fishing docks, and a boat ramp. The rangers ride through the park frequently and check on things. Even though it was too cold to swim, the park has a swimming area. The play ground was a favorite place for our children.

We loved our stay at Lake Claiborne and meeting Mr. Theron and Mrs. Frances was an added bonus. We have made new friends that we will see again if not here we know we will see them in Heaven.

We would stay at Lake Claiborne again if ever in the area.
