Our Christmas

This Christmas, we celebrated the birth of our Savior in our bus.  The gifts were placed under our 2ft tree while our real 5ft tree was lying down on the ground with broken decorations. (The wind knocked it over.) I think it was symbolic. Sin knocks us over and we must become broken to realize that we need a Savior. Jesus was born; so that, He could die for our sins. I am thankful that Jesus brought me to the end of myself in 1999. Now at Christmas, I am brought to tears when I sing Happy Birthday to my Savior.
Singing Happy Birthday to Jesus is how we start our Christmas day each year. This year was no different.  After singing, we usually eat breakfast. (Remember Jeff is a foodie. He has to eat FIRST.)  This year was different. Jeff waited and we opened presents FIRST.  (We were not foolish in thinking that we could get 7 children to wait to open their gifts when the gifts where within 3ft of their hands.) Therefore, we all skipped breakfast and had brunch around 11am.
After breakfast, Jeff put the ham on the coals and he smoked our Christmas ham.  I made Crock Pot Mac and Cheese, Green Beans, and a Coconut Cream Pie. Jeff heated the rolls and we ate a delicious meal. The ham was moist, tender, and fell off the bone.
The children enjoyed being outside and playing with their toys. I don't think we heard any complaining or arguing all day.
To end the day, Jeff and I were able to share our testimony with a couple that we met in the park.
We ended this day the way it started - singing Praises to Jesus.  It was a great Christmas Day in Goliad State Park, Texas.
