Hike at Fort Davis State Park

Today (1/17/2010), we decided to take a hike. This hike didn't start out like most.  Before we started down the trail, Jeff realized that Katie was not with us.  She was still sitting back at the overlook so much for our buddy system. Mom forget her buddy.  Then before we got too far into the hike, Hannah had to potty. Therefore, I had to make a toilet out of rocks.

Once we had everybody and everybody had taken care of business, we enjoyed our mile hike up the mountain. The view at the top was beautiful. We could see Fort Davis National Park below which was an active military post in 1854. Fort Davis is the highest town in Texas. It is located in the Davis Mountains of West Texas.

Before heading back down, we enjoyed a snack and some water. The mile hike back down the mountain was not as eventful as coming up but we all enjoyed ourselves.
