Lake Bistineau State Park, Louisiana
After our short stay at home, we left in March and spent several days with my sister and her family. Then, we headed to Lake Bistineau State Park in Louisiana. We chose Lake Bistineau because some friends of ours ,which we met last year in Louisiana, were staying at this park. Our plan was to stay two nights at the park. However after one night, we knew we were to stay longer.
During our week stay at Lake Bistineau we met several people. We enjoyed spending time with Mr. Theron and Mrs. Frances. We enjoyed meeting their family and getting to know them all better. The food we shared was delicious. Mr. Theron makes great ribs and catfish. We miss you all.
While visiting Lake Bistineau State Park, we spent time meeting and talking to many people. We had some over for dinner, gave firewood to a couple, and spent time sharing our Faith with many. The children met some new friends and rekindle some old. This was a very family-friendly park.
Lake Bistineau State Park has great playgrounds, and is an excellent place to ride bikes. Their bath house is immaculate with hot showers. They also offer a laundry room. Each site has a deck, picnic table, and fire-ring. We had an electric/water site with the view of the lake. The park is in the process of draining the lake because of a plant that is taking over the lake but don't let this stop you from visiting. They offer several hikes and the view of Cypress Trees draped in Spanish moss blowing in the breeze is unforgettable. This park is a place that we will visit again. Take a look at the pictures below.
Here is Jeff bouncing up and down on a log while Sierra tries to balance herself.

Cypress and Pine Trees covered in Spanish Moss.
This tree was once under water. Since the lake was down, we could walk around the lake to the playground.
Jacob loved the tire swing.
Katie enjoyed the slide.
