One day after a storm, Jeff and I took a drive through the canyon. We were in amazement as we watched the clouds roll back to expose the sunlight as it painted the desert and canyon with its glow.
The rain washed away all the red sand from the trees. The trees and bushes looked as if they had been refreshed and were shining their brilliant green color.
"Great is the Lord and most worthy of praise;
His greatness no one can fathom." Psalm 145: 3
Sun only for a moment then more clouds move over the desert sky.
As we drove back toward the bus, we spotted a rainbow in the sky ahead of us.
As we drove farther down the road, we saw two rainbows come into view. (One is in the middle of the picture and the other is to the left about 1/2 inch from edge of photo.)
"I have set my rainbow in the clouds, and it will be the sign of the covenant between me and the earth." Genesis 9:13
As the sun goes down behind the mountains, darkness appears and the clouds approach.
Jeff and I were privileged to witness this majestic event. It brought thoughts to my mind of the constant presence of God even in the midst a storm. He is there before the storm, during the storm, when the sun reappears, reveals His promise in the form of a rainbow, and He is there when the clouds fill the sky in the cover of darkness once again.
"I am the Lord, who has made all things,
who alone stretched out the heavens,
who spread out the earth by myself,..." Isaiah 44:24
