A Lesson Learned

If you have ever spent anytime at our house, you would know it is far from boring.  Today was no different!

As I was making dinner, Jacob asked Melissa, "Would you eat a bite of Crisco? " Melissa's reply was how much will you pay me? Then Melissa said, " How about $15.00?" As she and Jacob bickered on a price, I continued to cook dinner without saying a word   Next, Jacob retrieved a spoon from the drawer, stuck it into the solid Crisco and handed about a tablespoon of lard to her.  "Fifty cents is my final offer.", he said.

Melissa quickly jerked the spoon that held the Crisco and plopped it in her mouth.  Jacob gave her some water and down the hatch went the big blog of oil that was melting on her tongue! "That's fifty cents.", said Melissa.

As Jacob left the room to get Melissa's money, she said that the experience was not really that bad.
Well, three hours later when Melissa came out of the bathroom holding her stomach, I said, "I wonder if the Crisco experience is worth fifty cents now." She said, " Believe me I have learned my lesson! I will not do that again!"

Sometimes, it is a good thing for this mama to just keep her spoon in the pan and her mouth shut.  I think several children learned a lesson without me saying a word.  Don't eat the Crisco!
