We discovered that your ears will "pop" while riding a elevator to the 40th floor of the Chase Building in Dallas. We discovered the view from the 40th floor was amazing. On this clear day, it looked like, we could see for at least 10 miles. I stood amazed.
We discovered that the Dallas Farmers Market has drive-thru. Oh, how I loved this place. Prior to moving to Tennessee we ate organic fruit, veggies, and meat. In Tn., organic products are not easily accessible and economical. I can't wait to serve all this fresh fruit and veggies to my family. Jacob discovered that he doesn't like mango (everyone else does). Melissa, Hannah, and Andrew discovered that they do not like spring onions (everyone else does). Hannah discovered that she doesn't like blackberries. All the children discovered that they love fresh pineapple. If you are every in Dallas, you should check out the Farmers Market they offer free samples at each booth.
We discovered that the Visitors Center is not in the Convention Center area. It is in the Old Red Museum. A very patient lady from the museum stayed on the phone with Jeff until he arrived at the museum. Once at the museum, John was awesome. He gave us visitor advice, directions, and told us of some things that we shouldn't miss. He even gave us some information on the direction we should go when we leave Dallas. Our day would not have been as productive and fun if it were not for him. THANKS JOHN!!
We discovered Dealey Plaza where JFK was shot. (more on this later)
We discovered Pioneer Plaza which features the worlds largest bronze monument. (more on this later) Katie discovered that she could step on rocks and cross a creek just like everyone else.
We discovered that the art museums are closed on Mondays. However, we did enjoy walking around the Art District.
We discovered Neiman Marcus. This store has been in business since 1907. "It has set the standard for fashion and elegance." (quote from visitor's guide) Sierra enjoyed looking at the fashionable clothes and the PRICE tags. We all enjoyed the NM Chocolate Chip Cookie. Jeff enjoyed the Chicken Chili Chowder Soup. The window decorations were beautiful and the Christmas trees were fashionable. I met and talked with 4 ladies. I love God's Divine appointments.
We had a great day in Dallas, TX.
